Faith-Based Community Involvement Initiative

Knowing of the success that comes of faith communities and human service agencies working together, Portland Impact has spearheaded a Faith-Based Community Involvement Initiative.  Our goal is to build relationships with faith communities so that together we may better serve those in need in our community.  We will accomplish this by:

• Supporting congregations’ outreach efforts by providing resources, information, occasional trainings and a place where outreach groups of different faiths can gather, share ideas on serving those in need, and have the opportunity to engage in interfaith community service projects. 
• Inviting faith community members to volunteer in our programs as mentors, tutors, Friendly Visitors, in group volunteer projects and in a myriad of other ways.
