Portland Impact welcomes volunteers dedicated to making
a
difference in the lives of low-income families, youth, seniors, and
adults with disabilities in Multnomah County. All
volunteers begin the process by filling out a
volunteer application
(Word document). (Portland Impact performs background checks on all
applicants.)

1.
Drivers for Senior Program
Description:
Provide transportation for seniors and adults with disabilities who
need supplemental assistance such as driving to doctor’s
appointments, recreational outings, errands or shopping. You may
drive your own vehicle or one of our 10-13 passenger vans. In
addition, when you sign up to be a Portland Impact Driver you are
given a personal Flex Car account for one year free!

After School Homework Helper or Teacher with Portland Impact SUN
Schools
Description: SUN
(Schools Uniting Neighborhoods) Community Schools are located in
Portland Public Schools and are designed to transform schools into
community learning centers and promote student achievement and
enrichment through greater neighborhood involvement. They provide
educational, recreational, social and health services, serving a
wide age group from preschoolers to seniors in high school. We are
looking for groups or individual volunteers to help students with
homework, teach a class or assist with after school activities or
events.

Monday-Friday (any day) 3-6pm

Serving Dinner to Seniors in the Congregate Housing Services Program
Description: The
Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP) is designed to assist
seniors and adults with disabilities to live independently in their
own apartments. CHSP provides services and assistance including
meals, housekeeping, personal care, companionship and case
management. Individuals or groups can volunteer by assisting with
dinner service or provide a social activity to do after the meal.

Monday-Saturday 3-6pm, any day available
4. Quilting
& Sewing Class Instructor
Description:
Experienced sewer needed to teach a quilting class for seniors.
Pfaff sewing machines already provided.
Location: SE
Multicultural Services Center, 4610 SE Belmont, Portland 97215
Commitment:
Tuesdays, 1:30-3:00pm (can be flexible)
5.
Richmond Place Transitional Housing for Homeless Families
Description: A
great opportunity for groups or individual volunteers.
Richmond Place
provides housing and supportive services to families and children to
help them transition from homelessness into stable housing, livable
income and a supportive social network. We need volunteers to help
organize and clean the community room as well as getting an
apartment at ready for a new family to move in.

Grounds Beautification
Description: A
great opportunity for groups to make a difference in our community.
Portland Impact has several facilities in need of maintenance such
as cleaning, painting, repairs and furniture moving.
